2023-24 Scholarship Opportunities

 

Argo Spirit Scholarship, University of West Florida: This full-ride, competitive scholarship is for Pell Grant-eligible, first-time-in-college Florida resident students who have shown strength of character, or “Argo Spirit,” by overcoming obstacles, fighting for something important, or making an impact while in high school. This can be in the form of leadership, family contribution, or community engagement. The application includes a video essay. High school GPA and standardized test scores are not taken into consideration. Winners will be awarded full tuition, on-campus housing, a meal plan, and an $800 per-semester book stipend. To be considered, students must complete the FAFSA and Argo Spirit Scholarship application and be admitted no later than April 12, 2024.

 

Chipola College Foundation Scholarship and additional external scholarship applications to be used at Chipola College for the 2024-25 school year have begun opening and are available online. Please begin applying for these opportunities for financial aid now.

Visionary Scholarship is a bi-annual award. There are five (5) awards given with each bi-annual deadline - with a total of ten (10) college scholarships awarded for each school year. The Sallie Mae Fund’s Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program for High School Seniors helps make the dream of higher education a reality for outstanding students from under-resourced, underrepresented, and underserved communities. High school seniors who are facing financial challenges may apply to win up to a $10,000 scholarship to help them attend college or a vocational-technical school. Applications are now open through May 17, 2024.

 

Florida Peanut Producers Scholarship Award- application packet postmarked no later than April 1, 2024. 

 

The Community South Scholarship Program will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to six high school seniors. Application Packets can be downloaded online using this link. Completed applications with ALL required submittals must then be uploaded through the application upload portal no later than 11:59 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The upload portal can be found at the bottom of the page under the “Application Process” section. 

 

West Florida Electric Cooperative Scholarship: To qualify, a student's parent or legal guardian must be a member of West Florida Electric Cooperative living on the cooperative's electric distribution lines. Applicants must also be graduating in 2024 from a school located within the cooperative's four-county service area. Recipients will be selected by a committee of judges. These scholarships are for study at post-secondary or vocational/technical institutions.  Deadline to apply: March 22, 2024 by 5 PM
 

The Biletnikoff Award created and sponsored by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. will begin accepting applications on November 22, 2023. The Biletnikoff Award Scholarship goes to students who excel in academics, are involved in extra curricular activities, and have overcome a significant challenge.  TO BE ELIGIBLE, the applicant must have compiled either an overall unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or an overall weighted high school GPA of 3.25 and attend a public, private, charter, or virtual high school in Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Suwannee, or Wakulla County. The applicant does NOT have to play a high school sport to qualify. Applicants are encouraged to submit applications beginning November 22, 2023, well before the February 23, 2024, deadline. 

The 2024 Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) scholarship application is now open! JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $35,000 over four years to supplement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities. In addition, Scholars receive extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, and attend JRF’s annual multi-day "Mentoring and Leadership Conference" in New York City and other regional events throughout the year. To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must: 
- Be a graduating, minority high school senior
- Be a United States citizen
- Present evidence of financial need
- Demonstrate a record of academic excellence
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a dedication to community service
- Plan to attend an accredited and approved 4-year college within the United States or affiliated with a United States-based college or university
- Have not accrued more than 25% of credits needed to graduate from college.

All applications are due January 10, 2024. 

Florida State University's Service Scholar program recognizes students with an outstanding record of community service and leadership who want to continue that commitment at FSU. We encourage you to share this opportunity with graduating seniors whose interests align with this commitment. Some benefits of the Service Scholar program include:

Each year, the Florida JCI Senate Foundation grants  $1000.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities, or vocational schools. These scholarships are based on academic performance. We also grant  $1000.00 based on academic performance and financial need. We also administer a scholarship for a graduating Lakeland, Florida high school student using the same criteria. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and the educational institution of the recipient’s choice.  Applications must come from high school students who are U.S. Citizens graduating from a Florida accredited high school. This may include state approved home school and state approved GED programs, or Cyber School. For more information and application please go to the link.

Florida Eastern Star Tuition Grant Program- Up to $30,00 grant to be split among awardees dependent upon type of assistance payment. Deadline to apply January 1, 2024.

The 2024 Coca-Cola Scholars Program application is now open! Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Students need a 3.0 GPA and to fill out an online application that requires no essays, no recommendations, and no transcripts by October 2, 2023, at 5 p.m. Eastern.
