Parent Sign Up for Kajeet WiFi Hotspot

The Jackson County School Board has received mobile hotspots that will enable students in grades 6-12 who do not have internet at home to connect their Chromebooks to the internet.  These devices only work where Verizon has cell service.  These devices use the same network as Verizon.  If you are unable to get service in your area, these devices will not work for your student.

If you are able to access Verizon's network near your home, and cannot afford to pay for internet service, your student can check out one of these devices from his or her media center for free.  (Please note that if the device is lost, damaged, or stolen a $90.00 replacement fee will be assessed.)  You have to reserve a hotspot using this form.  Your child's media specialist will notify your student when he or she should pick up the device.  You must fill out this form completely to reserve your hotspot.  Students in your household will need their own device.  You must fill out this form for each student.

The devices will not allow streaming services.  For example, your student will not be able to watch YouTube videos, etc.

These hotspot devices will provide internet service through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.  The hotspot device must be returned at the end of the year to the media center.
